Playing with Spring

I always get just a lit bit more excited when Spring collections roll out. I simply can't help it, being a spring baby, I tend to play the favoritism up a bit. It doesn't help that I love pastels colors and feminine cuts....just beyond control. This season, though, I was starting to feel a little disappointed. The collections being rolled out just looked too much like fall and here I found myself saying, "That's nice...". My expectations just sort of fell and I kept telling myself just to wait and see, surely something grand would happen. And it did. So, I related my favorite collections with beautiful backdrops of architecture in San Francisco.

When I saw Fendi I think I almost felt my heart jump out. Finally, a collection that really made me react and stir little butterflies in my stomach. But, of course, Karl Lagerfeld would never disappoint. I actually feel quite silly, I didn't know Karl was one of the designer behind Fendi until last year. Um....oops? Could you imagine what humiliation I would've passed if I was actually there? Certain, very certain humiliation would have been visible on my shocked face.

Marni just called to me. From the aviator caps and the geometric patterns to the bright red lipstick and the obvious way it made me want it so badly. It's the good collections that make me dream....

Jil Sander's skirts really just forced me to drop my jaw to the ground. The first thing I thought was fun. They made me melt and jump and squeal like a schoolgirl all at the same time. I actually couldn't help but imagine myself walking the streets in a chic, long skirt.....and well also singing a Brigitte Bardot song. I think if I actually got one I just might do that, singing and all, from the pure happiness that would fill me.

Just thinking about these collections make me even more excited to see what's to come. Either way, I'm undoubtedly happy to see color is back.
