I love blogs.
There's really no other sentence that could get to the point so easily. Its funny though because I can actually remember a time, circa 2006, when even the word B-L-O-G would have been baffling. I can just picture myself saying, "What? A what? Blog? What is that, some sort of cheese?" But now I just love them. I've learned so much from them! I've learned about new designers, new styles, new cultures, new words, etc. The list really goes on and on. So, I thought it would be fun to start doing little interviews for my own blog; thus using my journalism muscles ( aka: plan B if fashion for some unknown reason doesn't like me) for this project. I've decided to name it : Put your hands behind your head! You have an awesome blog! And who knows maybe do it once a month and so on.
So for my very first edition I chose to interview :
Mary Jane Girl
She has this amazing effortless style and I must confess I'm green with hair envy!

How would you describe your style?
I would describe my style as casual-hippy-grunge. I love adding leather details to my outfit and a headband that has now become sort of my fashion statement.
What influences you the most when it comes to your style?
I don't think I have a specific influence but I do get inspired by lots of fashion designers like Alexander Wang and labels like Rag and Bone, Acne, Stolen girlfriend's club and Proenza Schouler. Also free press magazines like OZON.
What inspired you to start your blog?
I started blogging after I finnished my exams for entering college (something like the American SAT's but much harder) and I wanted to do something creative after a year of overexhausting studying.
If you had to wear one outfit for the rest of your life what would it be?
I love this question! I'd have to say pajamas and a massive grey Cheap Monday jumper over them. Anything else and I'd be out of fashion from the next year.
What era of style is your favorite?
Definitely this one. But if I had to say an older decade it would be the 60's because it was the decade of the hippies. I love the headbands, the feathers and the bell bottoms, I'd just stay away from tie-dye T-shirts.
Do you have a style icon & who is it?
Olivia Palermo, Leighton Meester (in real life not gossip girl) and Kate Moss.
What are your passions?
I've always loved designing clothes, I recently got a sewing machine but haven't had enough time to start using it. This summer I will do some summer courses on fashion design in Saint Martens in England.
What do you want to be when you grow up?
I'm on my second semester in college studying interior design but I'd love it if I could combine that with becoming a fashion designer.
How come you have such gorgeous hair, do you use a magic shampoo or something?
Haha, no magic shampoo I'm afraid. I have had some really bad hair years it just happens I got a good haircut this year.
Where do you see yourself in ten years?
Some place nice hopefully, maybe living in New York or LA but honestly any beautiful place in the world as long as i have good friends and an internet connection.
I definitely recommend visiting her blog.
Any suggestions for a blogger I could interview next month??
