strong coffee

It's some odd time in the morning, the weather is still trying to decide what its going to do, whilst the morning breeze picks up a few leaves from the ground. There's a cup of coffee in my hands, sadly I've made it too strong, but I can't bring myself to pull the thick faux fur blanket off of me and go fix it. After all, this is what Sunday's are made of, not getting up. I'm still trying to decide what this post is going to be about, because rest assured I want my blog to grow and really express me and not simply a daily catalog of my outfits. There's more to it than just pictures, the process through which I build an outfit is such a treasured one, how could I truly portray that nirvana through an image?

I haven't found that answer just yet, but I'm determined. In the mean time, I find myself trying to follow the countless self-help quotes, in other words : being the best me. Now before I take off ranting in a philosophical mini Socrates way, I should stop myself. I'd like to share with you all my happiness, my good energy, and my good thoughts. You can never have enough positive things; one of the things that truly makes me happy are shoes. I know, it sounds superficial and over a million girls have said it, but I can't help it. When I look at a shoe, I look at it like a piece of art. The craftsmanship, the smooth leather ( mostly plastic) sole, the stitching, the curve of the arch, the height of the heel, etc. Every last detail matters and most importantly the creativity matters. Shoes are magic for me, they can be the perfect piece in an otherwise plain outfit, they can make you feel instantly confident, and they really can take you places. And while I sit here with my coffee dreaming of the day when I can really indulge in my little love affair, looking at pictures seems to suffice for now. In these times, I turn to no doubt one of the best photo bloggers possibly ever, Tommy Ton of Jak & Jil.

Here are some of my favorite pictures of shoes, shot my the infamous Tommy:

Do you share my love for shoes?

  3. Of course, what girl doesn't?! The problem of course is to satisfy the hunger for new shoes without going broke. I'm constantly searching for ways to get a deal on a pair of shoes I may have had my eye on for months. Sometimes my patience pays off, but sometimes I miss out on a good thing! Oh well, I guess you can't always win...
